Transforming City High Through Major Facility Upgrades
As part of the Iowa City Community School District’s Facilities Master Plan 2.3, City High received a full-scale renovation—including a conversion of the former gym into a brand-new Sports Performance & Wellness Center, and repurposing its old weight room into a cardio and dance space. These updates reflect a district-wide investment to deliver state-of-the-art athletic spaces across all high schools.
Performance Center Vision
The “City High Strong Together” fundraising campaign aimed to establish a multi-functional facility with wellness equipment and programming accessible to all students—not just athletes—but expanded district investments suggest broader application for the entire student community.
